ROCKVILLE, Maryland - April 7, 2008

Lisa Kazor, CEO and President of Savantage Solutions, announced today that Savantage Solutions was awarded the prestigious Bronze Maryland Performance Excellence Award (MPEA) for 2007 by Maryland's U.S. Senators, Barbara Milkulski and Benjamin Cardin. The Award honors the quality, productivity and business achievements of Maryland. The awards are given each year at the Annual Maryland Performance Excellence Awards Conference, held April 7 at the University of Maryland.
The Maryland Quality Awards use the same stringent criteria that are used for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for Performance Excellence. Baldridge Criteria includes evaluation in multiple categories including leadership; strategic planning; customer and market focus; measurement by analysis and knowledge management; human resource focus; process management and business results. The awards are given by Maryland’s Senators to honor quality, productivity and business achievements of the state’s high performing organizations.
"Savantage is pleased to be recognized once again for our dedication to performance excellence" said Ms. Kazor. "It is a reflection of our team’s commitment to improved organizational performance and customer satisfaction. We are greatly honored to be recognized by the University of Maryland and Senators Mikulski and Cardin as a one of Maryland’s high performing organizations, and will continue to practice excellence in all aspects of our business."
The purpose of this awards program is two-fold. First, the Maryland Performance Excellence Awards process seeks to inspire, coach and recognize role model organizations for their successful implementation of systematic processes and achievement of outstanding results. Second, the award application process encourages organizations to learn and improve their operations and management procedures by conducting self-assessment evaluations, and by implementing the Award Committee’s written feedback and recommendation report.
The U.S. Senate Productivity Award was awarded to Howard Community College, a publicly funded two-year community college serving the educational needs of the citizens and employers in Howard County since 1970. Other productivity award winners are Allen & Shariff, Asbury/Solomons, The College of Sourthern Maryland, the Information Services Division of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the Naval Medical Logistics Command, and Queen Anne’s County Public Schools.
