Savantage Solutions Receives Maryland Quality Award for Performance Excellence
ROCKVILLE, Maryland - March 12, 2007
Lisa Kazor, CEO and President of Savantage Solutions, announced that Savantage is the recipient of the prestigious Bronze Maryland Quality Award from the State of Maryland. The awards are given each year at the Annual Maryland Performance Excellence Awards Conference, held March 12, 2007 at the University of Maryland.
The Quality Awards are the State of Maryland's highest awards recognizing performance excellence in companies and organizations in the State of Maryland. The Maryland Quality Awards use the same stringent criteria that are used for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for Performance Excellence. Baldridge Criteria includes evaluation in multiple categories including leadership; strategic planning; customer and market focus; measurement by analysis and knowledge management; human resource focus; process management and results.
"This distinguished award reaffirms Savantage’s dedication to leadership, integrity, initiative and customer service," said Ms. Kazor. "It is a reflection of our team’s continuous commitment to excellence and quality. We are greatly honored to be recognized by the University of Maryland, Senator Barbara Mikulski, and Senator Benjamin Cardin as a one of Maryland’s high performing organizations and will continue to practice excellence in every aspect of our business."
The awards identify, recognize, and spotlight role model organizations whose performance is worthy of emulation. The award application process also encourages organizations to learn about and improve the way they manage their business through conducting self-evaluations and taking advantage of customized feedback and recommendations from the awards review committee.
"Award applicants set goals for themselves that are measurable against similar organizations within that same field," said LaWanda Burwell, chairperson for the Maryland Performance Awards Program's executive guidance board, which decides the award winners. Savantage received the Bronze Maryland Quality Award for providing high-quality business solutions to its customers based on its focus on leadership, integrity, passion for learning, mutual respect and a drive for initiative and a management that provides a "hands-on" approach.
The U.S. Senate Productivity Award was given to Chimes, a not-for-profit organization serving citizens with disabilities. Other productivity award winners are Asbury Communities, Asbury Methodist Village, Inc., Howard Community College, Lorch Microwave, Mechanicsville Elementary School, SGT, Inc., and Household of Angels Assisted Living.
