Savantage CPAs Rita Finney and George Jones Receive 2006 SmartCPA Awards from Washington SmartCEO Magazine
ROCKVILLE, Maryland - June 30, 2006
Lisa Kazor, CEO and President of Savantage Solutions, announced today that Savantage Vice President Rita Finney and Senior Consultant George Jones received SmartCPA Awards for 2006 from Washington SmartCEO Magazine. This award recognizes Rita and George as two of the top 50 certified public accountants in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area including Maryland and Virginia.
The SmartCPA Award acknowledges the work of top CPAs practicing in accounting firms, private industry, government, and education who have demonstrated leadership, accomplishment, innovation, and success.
Savantage Vice President Rita Finney has played a leading role in the development of the Department of Defense’s reporting system, one of the largest financial reporting software systems in the federal government. With her experience in federal financial management and governmental accounting, Rita has provided innovative recommendations for the evolution and continued improvement of the Department of Defense’s financial reporting system.
Senior Consultant George Jones leads Savantage’s Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) practice. He has developed IV&V approaches for use at the Department of Labor, the Department of the Air Force, and the Architect of the Capitol to ensure the integrity of their financial management software systems. He has received awards and commendations from government officials.
Rita Finney and George Jones were selected as SmartCPA Award winners by a Blue Ribbon Panel of regional experts. Washington SmartCEO partnered with the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants for the selection process.
Rita and George will be featured with the other winners in a special section in the July 2006 issue of Washington SmartCEO Magazine. An awards reception on Thursday, July 27, 2006 will honor SmartCPA award-winners.
