Supporting Humanitarian Causes
Savantage has raised funds and donated money for various humanitarian causes over the years. Below are some examples of our past efforts.
- In November 2010, Savantage Solutions signed on to become a Platinum level corporate sponsor for Project Enduring Pride, a wounded warrior program based out of Fairfax, Virginia. Project Enduring Pride work with and assists the severely wounded warriors returning from Afghanistan and Iraq and now recuperating at Walter Reed Army Medical Center or National Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. The organization's goal is to assist in returning warriors, physically and mentally, to their community and re-teach them how to have fun. Some of their events for the veterans in the past have included concerts, cruises, picnics, and holiday dinners. Read more about Savantage's sponsorship with Project Enduring Pride here.
- In July 2010, during the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) Professional Development Conference (PDC) in Orlando, Florida, Savantage issued a corporate challenge for the association's National Community Fund to help raise money for charities. As part of this challenge, we donated $7,500. The four selected charities included the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, The Hands on Network and Natural Resource Defense Council. - In June 2009, Savantage hosted a fundraising reception to raise money for the New Orleans Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH). By matching donations from attendees of the reception and a $5,000 donation from Savantage, a total of $10,000 was raised for the successful organization. In August 2005, the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina hit home for us. The Category 5 hurricane swept through New Orleans and the
Mississippi Gulf Coast region. It caused several sections of the levee system in New Orleans to collapse, resulting in severe
flooding and damage. With an office in New Orleans, we were greatly affected by the disaster. Fortunately,
all of our New Orleans employees were able to safely evacuate.
With the company matching program, we raised $6,000 for victims of the hurricane. We also formed a "Katrina Relief Team" to keep employees up to date with information on how they could help. One result of these efforts was the collection of many backpacks and bags of children's books and toys for Project Backpack, an organization formed after Hurricane Katrina to provide school supplies and toys to children affected by the hurricane.

In December 2004, an earthquake with a magnitude of 9.0 occurred in the Indian Ocean, just about 100 miles off the Indonesian coast.
The result was a tsunami that produced waves up to 100 feet and devastated South Asia. It caused significant destruction to
communities in the region, and is believed to have caused over 200,000 deaths. Like the rest of the world, we were
deeply saddened by the plight of the victims.
Within weeks, our company matching program raised more than $5,000 for vicitims. We donated the funds to Save the Children, so that the monies would be used to benefit the most vulnerable victims of this natural disaster.
